Ocjeic

Ojciec is one of my first film projects of its kind. I live and work on the Isle of Skye as a Ranger and part time professional photographer.
Filming Jacob’s journey across the Skye Trail started as an idea to capture a big physical challenge, but it quickly became something more personal. Jacob and his family are Polish, and when they taught me the word 'Ojciec' (meaning ‘father’) on my first visit to their home, it stuck.
We chose it as the title because we wanted the film to be more than just a man vs mountain story. It’s also about Jacob’s new role as a father, and how priorities shift alongside ambition.
