Each of these images comes from a long process.Sometimes half a year, sometimes nearly a full year made with cameras built from a few tinnies. Inside is a sheet of photosensitive paper, left to watch the sun rise and fall with the seasons. In winter, the arcs are low; in summer, high and long. Where the lines break, clouds have hidden the sun. The weather leaves its own marks too, soaking and scaring the paper and shaping the final trace.
What I love about them is how much life passes in the time it takes to make one. While the camera sits quietly, collecting light, whole chapters of life unfold. In that time I met someone, I fell in love, my father passed away, I bought a house, and now my partner and I are expecting our first child. Those moments feel traced into the work for me.
